The glaze kiln for the tile work is of the electric variety. It doesn’t take quite as long as the gas kiln to bring the interior temperature to 2232° and a day and a half for the ware inside to cool enough to be handled. The kiln doesn’t really like to be loaded entirely with tile so there is a line of red clay pots that always accompanies a load of tile.
